Hey, neighbors! It’s me again, Karena Garrity, your host of the Mooresville Daily.
First, today’s weather:
A thunderstorm in spots. High: 78 Low: 61.
Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:
- The Mooresville Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on May 16, to consider annexation and utility extension requests from LIV Development who is seeking to annex a large site on Lake Norman into the town of Mooresville for a significant residential project. The 96.8-acre site, off Transco Road, is currently vacant. (WSOC Charlotte)
- The most expensive listing in Mooresville hit the market this week with a price tag of $5.15 million. The lakefront home is nearly 6,300-square-feet. Located at 153 Sleepy Cove Trail, the home is in the Bay Crossing subdivision, on the northern portion of Lake Norman — about 33 miles north of Charlotte. (WSOC Charlotte)
- The weather is warming up, which means more outdoor activities are being enjoyed, however, with warmer weather comes the risk of tick bites. According to US News, a new tick-borne virus, the Heartland Bandavirus, is spreading across the country. The symptoms of this virus are very similar to those of COVID-19 with high fever, diarrhea and muscle pains. The tick population is currently reportedly booming so protect yourself with insect repellent and proper clothing. (69News WFMZ-TV)
