Charlotte firm acquires Beverly-Hanks, WNC’s largest real estate firm

ASHEVILLE Charlotte-based Allen Tate Realtors has acquired Beverly-Hanks, Western North Carolina’s largest real estate operation, and one of its oldest, dating to 1976.

Beverly-Hanks, which has 18 residential offices and over 460 Realtors in WNC, as well as a commercial real estate operation, made the announcement on Aug. 2.

“As a homegrown business in Western North Carolina, local expertise, personal service and respect for our special corner of the Blue Ridge guides everything we do,” Beverly-Hanks Realtors President Neal Hanks said in the release. “This new partnership will allow us to expand that vision while deepening our commitment to the communities we serve.”

Founded in 1976 with the merger of Beverly Realty and W. Neal Hanks & Associates, Beverly-Hanks closed sales in excess of $2.6 billion in 2021, the release notes.

Allen Tate Realtors acquired Beverly-Hanks in partnership with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, according to the release. A 65-year-old company, Allen Tate had $6.8 billion in closed sales volume in 2021, and it will now have 70 real estate offices spanning the Charlotte, Triad, Research Triangle, High Country, Highlands/Cashiers, and Asheville/Mountain regions. of North Carolina and the Upstate of South Carolina, the release notes.
