Ganjam schools to adopt waste-to-wealth practice

A workshop on “Waste to Wealth” for 622 school headmasters of Ganjam district was organised by the Government ITI, Brahmapur on Wednesday.

BeMC Commissioner J Sonal and PD, DRDA Keerithivasan V inaugurated the event as guests. Among other dignitaries, DEO, Ganjam Binita Senapati and Principal of Government ITI Dr Rajat Panigrahy were present. Six HMs from different schools of the district spread over 22 blocks selected.

Keerithivasan in his address said that under the leadership of the Scrap Man of Odisha, Dr Rajat Kumar Panigrahy, all 600 schools will adopt the waste to wealth strategy. The students from 600 schools will shortly visit the ITI campus to acquire technical know-how. They will be trained at ITI, Brahmapur on installing various beautiful sculptures and models at their respective schools under 5T school initiatives. The ITI is one of the leading technical institutes in the country that believes in innovative measures and new inventions. The role played by the institute during this time is particularly commendable, he added.

Commissioner, BeMC, Sonal appreciated the initiative in innovative measures taken by the ITI, Brahmapur and advised all headmasters to take various initiatives at school level.

Principal Panigrahy vividly explained why the waste wealth is essential even in the current digital regime and how the trainees will benefit. Dr. Panigrahi pledged to extend his support to high school to develop their innovative skill and required technical knowhow.
