Innovation Powers State Agri: Jagan At Niti Aayog | Amaravati News

Amaravati: Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that AP has pioneered innovative methods to achieve sustainability in the agriculture sector. He said that the state government had also transformed the education sector by taking the entire public education system into a new regime with the implementation of New Education Policy (NEP).
Jagan attended the Niti Aayog governing council meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Sunday.
Addressing the conclave of union ministers and chief ministers and senior officials, Jagan said that they have set main focus on agriculture sector as 35 per cent of the state’s GDP comes from the farm sector.
He said that AP has become an agriculture dependent state particularly after bifurcation. Around 62 per cent of its population is dependent on cultivation.
“We have launched about 10,778 Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) and took all the services to the door-steps of the farmers. RBKs have been designed as one-stop solution centers of farmers’ grievances,” explained Jagan. He said that the government is providing training sessions to the farmers through the experts at RBKs apart from setting up kiosks to procure fertilisers, seed and pesticides.
