HOBOKEN, NJ (August 2, 2022) – Stevens Institute of Technology head women’s volleyball coach Brianna Jones has announced the hiring of Jocelyn Mahayag as an assistant coach Tuesday. Mahayag comes to Hoboken with playing experience at both the Division I and NAIA levels, along with an international stint in Italy with Apd Marconi Stella.
“We are very excited to have Jocelyn join our program!” Jones said. “Her passion for the game and her eagerness will only enhance our gym! Our student-athletes are very excited to learn from the various experiences Jocelyn has had throughout her volleyball career.”
Stevens will be the first collegiate coaching position for the Kennesaw, Georgia native, who was named to the University of Mobile’s Women’s Volleyball All-Decade Team for 2010-2019.

Over three collegiate stops, Mahayag totaled 1,981 digs over 128 matches (400 sets) to conclude her playing career with a 4.95 digs per set average. Beginning her career at Truett McConnell University in her native George, Mahayag led the NAIA with 6.48 digs per set (654 digs over 101 sets) in 2015. She then moved on to Georgia State University one year later and appeared in 54 sets for the division. I program, totaling 74 digs and nine aces. Mahayag concluded her playing career in Alabama, appearing in 245 sets over 73 matches, while amassing 1,253 digs. She closed her career as the single-season digs record holder at both Truett McConnell and Mobile.
Mahayag was honored as a three-time First Team All-Conference selection and also earned a pair of AVCA All-Region accolades. She graduated from the University of Mobile with a degree in communications in 2019.
