PATNA: With 132 percent overall placements and two students getting the highest-ever package of more than Rs 1 crore, the 2022 campus placements at the National Institute of Technology Patna (NITP), which concluded recently, proved to be the best so far in the institution’s history.
And, this despite some dislocation of regular academic activities on the campus during the last two years owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
All the 631 fourth-year students of NITP were suitably placed in different companies, including some reputed public sector as well as private sector undertakings. As many as 132 organizations visited the campus to select the candidates. Aditi Tiwari, a final-year student of electronics and communications, was selected by Facebook on an annual package of Rs 1.82 crore this year.
NITP’s training and placement cell in-charge Shailesh Mani Pandey said that this year, the average annual package offered in the placements was Rs 12.67 lakh and the minimum package offered was Rs 8.8 lakh. Maximum offers were made to the students of computer science engineering, electronics and information technology students.
Pandey pointed out that the cell organizes and coordinates campus placement for its students every year. The main mission of the placement cell at NIT Patna is to achieve 100 percent placement for students. It also provides necessary assistance to the students in finding mandatory summer internship and vocational training at top research and technical institutes in the country. Moreover, the institute coordinates with several industries and top research institutes to ensure students become accustomed to the latest technological advancements in the emerging fields.
Placement drives at NITP are conducted across all streams of the academic programs. The pandemic and the subsequent effect did not result in the withdrawal of offers from top companies, he said. NITP hosts several companies like Google, Facebook, Adobe, AmazonAccenture, Oneplus, KPIT, Infosys, Capgemini, Wipro Technologies, TCS, Vedanta, Tata Digital, Service Now, Uvaca Digital Systems Pvt.
