See what’s new with Copemish Days Aug. 6-7
COPEMISH – While much of the event roster for Copemish Heritage Days falls into the tried and true family activity classics, there are some new activities this weekend.
Linda Cudney, Copemish Heritage Days Committee treasurer and co-organiser, said there will be Two Fools Carriage Rides and a chance for youth to fish for trout.
Cudney said another new aspect is the Smart Trails booth displaying trails in the county.
“The Smart Trails is the new group formed by people in Manistee County for the trails coming from Thompsonville to Copemish for bicycle and walking trails and then build to Kaleva eventually and having trails in the county,” she said.
There will also be a historical society display with old yearbooks, photos and other items.
Copemish Heritage Days is organized by the Copemish Heritage Days Committee.
Cudney said the committee is made up of about five people who have been planning and organizing the event since early this year.
She emphasized that Copemish Heritage Days is centered around children.
“A lot of it is about the kids. The kids bike parade, the regular parade, bounce house, inflatable slide, trout fishing pond,” Cudney said. “It’s really always been about the kids.”
Cudney noted that most of the events take place at Lewis Park in Copemish.
The festival is set to take place in Copemish from Saturday through Sunday. More information on the events can be found at copemishheritagedays.wordpress.com.
