Statement By Secretary Granholm On President Biden’s Nomination Of David Crane

WASHINGTON, DC — US Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm issued the following statement today on President Biden’s nomination of David Crane to serve as Under Secretary for Infrastructure at the US Department of Energy:

“When we established our new Office of the Under Secretary for Infrastructure, we knew the office would need a seasoned leader with a clear vision of a net-zero America powered by clean energy, and a keen understanding of the industries and markets that will deliver it. President Biden has found that leader in David Crane. As CEO of NRG Energy, David led one of the country’s largest power companies with one of the most diverse mixes of power generation. Now, he will be able to marshal the vast resources that President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has invested in the Department of Energy for public-private partnerships that will drive manufacturing and deployment of clean, domestic energy technologies. I thank President Biden for his decision to nominate David to serve in this critical role, and I look forward to his confirmation.”
