White + Burke announces 8th Annual Vermont Development Conference Nov 17

Leaders in commercial real estate and development design for future growth in Vermont

Vermont Business Magazine White + Burke Real Estate Advisors, a leading Vermont-based commercial real estate firm, will host the 8th Annual Vermont Development Conference on November 17, 2022 at the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain in Burlington. The Conference is the first and only statewide event to connect all of the allied groups of professionals in the development industry in order to discuss economic trends, permitting, growth and designing for the future. With the changing landscape of land use regulations, design standards and financial markets, it is critical for this community to collaborate and update its collective knowledge on these issues.

“The Vermont Development Conference gives us the unique opportunity to bring together the vast network of professionals who drive development in our state and have a vested interest in Vermont’s economic growth,” said David White, President and Founder of White + Burke. “We’re excited about the potential this event has to improve best practices and individual project value, share collective knowledge and trends, and unify our broader development community as we look toward the future in Vermont.”

The 2022 Conference will feature a full day of programming including speakers from the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation, Efficiency Vermont, Burlington Business Association, Vermont Department of Labor and many more. This year’s keynote speaker is Carolyn Finney, PhD from the Franklin Environmental Center at Middlebury College, who will be speaking on creative solutions to environmental and social challenges in cities and beyond in her session “Labor of Love: Making Green Space, Creating Community, and Playing the Long Game.”

Additional sessions will explore topics like population growth in Vermont and its impact on business and development; facing construction challenges like material price increases, labor shortages and supply chain issues; regulatory guidance for developments built with environmental performance in mind; and how communities in Vermont are moving the needle on the housing crisis. Programming will include opportunities for attendees to network and connect with as many as 300 professionals involved in commercial development and real estate in Vermont.

Over ten Vermont businesses are co-sponsoring the 8th Annual Vermont Development Conference: Downs Rachlin Martin, PC Construction, M&T Bank, Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, ReArch Company, SunCommon, Northfield Savings Bank, Dinse, New England Federal Credit Union, M&S Development, TD Bank, O’Brien Brothers, Pomerleau Real Estate and Vermont Business Magazine.
